Book report from Agatha Christies And Then There Were None

Agatha Christie is known of her detective stories and And Then There Were None is a great example of marvellous detective story. And Then There Were None is one of the greatest crime novels ever written. And Then There Were None is also known as Ten Little Niggers, but it was renamed for the name was too racist. The book isn’t racist, it’s an amazing puzzle but all the pieces are missing, when you find one you can find another, and when you’ve found them all, it seems so logical. After reading the book you may think “It was so obvious, why didn’t I notice,” but it’s all because of the great plot, which makes the reader think that one knows everything.

In the beginning there are ten quests invited to the Nigger Island, which has a foggy reputation. The quests don’t know what to expect because all of them have been invited for a different reason. Their first evening on the house the quests hear a tape which is acclaiming them all of a crime. Everyone is shocked and then people start dying, not all at once of course, but they are on the island only three days, so the action is fast. All the murders follow the old nursery rhyme “Ten Little Niggers”, which is in every quest’s room. In the point when the quests understand that they are all going to die, the feeling changes and everyone who is still alive is terrified and for a reason; there is a maniac on the island and they cannot escape.

The book is totally frightening; it makes me want to scream every time I read it even if I know what’s going to happen. And Then There Were None is a masterpiece and the way it makes reader think is extraordinary. It surprises, it makes traps, it is closely considered and every detail is on its own place. And the ending is one of the most amazing ones, the novel is remarkable. And Then There Were None is one of the scariest books I’ve read, but at the same time it’s brilliant and ingenious. It makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time, which is quite insane, but it describes the book really well. The fear is tangible and really contagious. Everyone should read this book but I don’t recommend it.
